QUICK COMMISSION: DREAMING MYTH by Rafael-Domination QUICK COMMISSION: DREAMING MYTH by Rafael-Domination
Well, it was until I got carried away with the details. Drawing chainmail is quite tedious. I had also attempted to draw an entire forest as well, but thankfully one of my friends told me that details can't be visible from such a great distance away. I might go back and color this later, well, unless some kind soul volunteers to color it for free. But right now, it's time to move on. I have other projects that need to be finished, and I am extremely behind schedule as it is.

TALLY HO!

I really did need to full-view to see the detail in the chainmail. How long did that actually take you?

Long enough to sprain my eyes, short enough to keep me sane! T____T

Yeah, chaimmail is not fun. Thanks for appreciating the work I put into it. :D

You're welcome. I don't think people can fully appreciate how much time it can take for even minute details unless they've been through it themselves.

When it comes to art, I'm way too active. When it comes to work (if its fun it aint work) I'm way too passive. :x I needa balance it all out. :icongivingupplz:

Agreed. Balance is the key. Too active, and you burn yourself out. Too passive, and you get nothing done.

I like the way you think. :D

I keep meaning to ask how you do your linearts, and every time I forget. But not this time!

I'd be happy to answer! :D

I start off with a basic idea and quickly sketch it into the computer. It's a quick 5-minute blitz to manifest as much of the image as possible, so the lines are all messy, everything looks like a blobs, and everything is flipped back and forth horizontally and readjusted for all sorts of tweaks, rearrangements and revisions. This is the 'scratch' later.

A new layer called 'draft' is made over that, and 'scratch' is reduced in transparency so I can draw over it clearly. A more refined sketch is made over the draft layer. It's still messy, but things are more defined and matched to reference that I take with my webcam.

I hide the 'scratch' layer, then make the 'draft' more transparent, then proceed to work on the final line art. I use several layers so when I want to adjust something, it won't interfere with the whole picture.

Woah, what an awesome and detailed outline! I wish I could do lines like this myself *^*

Maybe, if you allow it, I will give it a try and color it. When I have time XD Because I love to color such good and detailed lines <3

oh wow.. I really love the details in here ;w; And I think it was a good idea not to draw out an entire forest, the bg is perfect right now in that it's detailed enough, but not so much that it diverts attention from the characters. Great job!

Lol, it's tough not to get carried away. :D

I'm still itching to add the snow and cliffs on the mountain, more clouds, grass, pebbles and waves on the lake behind them. Also, color. But, I'm behind projects as it is. T___T

Thanks for the kind words!
